How long have you been with WBHHS?
Eight years.
How do you describe what you do?
I have the privilege of leading two amazing teams - Revenue Services, and Financial Accounting & Compliance. These small but mighty teams cover a wide range of activities, from generating much-needed own-source revenue for the health service to managing treasury, banking, external audit, financial compliance, end-of-month reporting, financial delegations, and FBT (to name just a few!).
While you won’t see us at the bedside, the work we do ensures our incredible frontline teams can shine and provide the best care to our community.
What's best about your job?
What I value most about my role is the chance to lead dedicated teams, turn ideas into outcomes, and see the impact of the teams’ hard work in such a complex and community-focused environment.
What was your path into health care?
Prior to joining WBHHS, I worked in local government - an equally challenging and rewarding environment, but I was ready for a change.
The move provided me the opportunity to experience another side of finance.
What does being part of a team mean to you?
For me, being part of a team means recognising that every role matters, no matter the title.
It’s about bringing together different strengths and perspectives to achieve results we couldn’t deliver alone, while supporting each other along the way.
I especially enjoy working alongside people who challenge my thinking, share their skills, and celebrate the wins together.
When you're not at work, you are....
Finding somewhere to eat. Since the kids left home, I have found comfort into letting others cook for me!
What do you enjoy about living in Wide Bay?
The friendly faces, relaxed lifestyle and your own patch of beach.
Tell us a fun fact about you.
I’m soon heading off on a 6-week adventure in Europe. As a planner at heart, I’ve got a detailed Excel spreadsheet and stretchy pants packed to get me through.
