The Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service Strategic Plan 2026 – 2030 sets out a roadmap to meet growing community healthcare needs.
From improved services to care closer to home, a new strategic five‑year plan launched by Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (WBHHS) recently will deliver healthcare that reflects what matters most to communities across the region.
Setting out a roadmap to meet growing community healthcare needs, the plan’s strategic direction was influenced by survey feedback received from the community and staff, together with data about needs within the region.
Chief Executive Debbie Carroll said the launch of the new strategic plan marks the next stage in WBHHS’s journey as a health service.
“Together, we’re advancing towards a stronger, more connected, and innovative organisation,” she said.
“The plan sets out our future direction, long-term goals, and the specific actions we’ll take to deliver on our mission, vision, and core values while continuing to provide exceptional care.
“It will guide us in grasping opportunities and navigating challenges that arise with a growing population.
“Thank you to those in our community and our staff who took the time to provide their feedback.
“Their input is at the heart of this plan and will help us deliver services that truly reflect the needs of our communities.”
The impact of WBHHS Strategic Plan 2026 – 2030 key priorities include:
- Skilled, diverse and inspired staff who have time to care
- Safe, respectful, and accessible care that’s easily understood by patients
- Care experience is safer and better coordinated with modern and connected systems
- Connecting care across hospital, GP and community services for prevention and early help close to home
