Healthcare worker standing

Our latest Health Hero is Natalie Lawrence, Acting Quality Data and Risk Coordinator Oral Health, who enjoys being a team player and finding ways to streamline processes to support clinicians and frontline administration employees.

How long have you been with WBHHS?

30 years

What's best about your job?

My role is to ensure accurate, quality data processes for performance reporting of Oral Health activity.  This makes sure that we demonstrate all the hard work and quality care our teams provide to the public.  I am also responsible for the management of incident management and consumer feedback.

What was your path into health care?

I introduced myself to public health as a trainee Dental Assistant.  This evolved into a permanent appointment and as time passed, I was successful in a crossover into the Oral Health Admin team.

As our team grew, I moved into a Senior Admin Officer role and have worked across all teams until an opportunity arose to step away from frontline management and into my current role that has exposed me more towards the business of our organisation.

What does being part of a team mean to you?

I really enjoy working with people with various skills all coming together for a common goal.

When you're not at work you are...

I am a mum, navigating teenagers and currently taking on the challenge of a learner driver.

What do you enjoy about living in Wide Bay?

I love the feeling of community and while being regional, I still have access to the city when I need a shopping fix!

Tell us a fun fact about you.

I am a member of a dance school and have choreographed my first piece this year.

What song are you listening to most right now?

All my dance pieces for this year's dance production!  On repeat.
