Medical internships
You can apply for medical internships at Bundaberg and Hervey Bay hospitals.
The internships are for 2 years and offer a pathway to our Resident Medical Officer (RMO) recruitment program. Most internships are full time.
Our internships offer extensive education to postgraduate medical students including:
- weekly junior doctor education sessions
- radiology lessons
- simulation based skills learning in basic life support and clinical deterioration
- professional development workshops and mentoring.

How to apply
To be eligible you’ll need:
- your medical qualification
- your Medical Board of Australia registration.
If you’re an international applicant, you’ll also need your Australian Medical Council MCQ exam and certificate and a valid visa.

There are different application closing dates based on the type of internship. Make sure you check the dates on the Queensland Health website and apply before the closing date.
